suozzi jumps out here to a big lead here in nassau county. what we have been saying, that we expect the earliest returns in nassau to be the most favorable to suozzi, because they are probably most of the mail-in votes. most of the absentee vote, the early votes. this is where democrats have done the best. then the election day vote, which will come in in ways from this point on, probably more republican friendly. what the big picture right here is extraordinarily favorable to suozzi and the democrats. overall, with queens just about all in and potentially all in, we are trying to nail that all in exactly. but with queens, the lion's share, at least with queens in and now a huge, huge chunk of nassau county. you see suozzi leading districtwide here by about 17 and a half points, our margin of 60,000 votes, and change 16 to 3:11. here's basically how to look at, i think, lawrence. the question coming into tonight, lawrence -- behave two different ways politically in recent elections. in the 2020 presidential election, this district voted for jo

put this in some perspective, we are expecting tonight about 155,000 votes from the nassau county portion. we are trying to track down exactly where it's from, and i think one thing to keep in mind in nassau is that it could be potentially just a slow process in terms of getting substantial votes out there. here is where we stand right now, because the lion's share of the vote is now in queens here. you can see that is a margin still of 20 points for tom suozzi, more than 80% in. the question that we asked tonight, there are two recent elections to reference this this year. one was the 2022 midterms, where the democrats loss at the district, and they only won this queens portion of the district, by four points, and then there is the 2020 presidential election, when joe biden won the district, and once the queen portion of the district by 19 points. this clearly is on track to land somewhere at or above joe biden's performance in 2020. democrats have gotten everything that they wanted out of queens and more. this is a significant path floor suozzi over what the benchmarks were for democrat

this, this, this district is encompass parts of nassau county and parts of queens, which is part of new york city and it's the kind of suburban district that many are looking into to decide the election in 2024 for the white house and for congress. and so this has been kind of a nationalized race, lots of spending every single ad that maasie polyps campaign has run has been attacking tom suozzi on immigration, on this idea that he's for open borders. suozzi for his part, has tried to attack felkel for her stance on abortion or saying that her stance on these issues aren't very isn't very clear and that if you vote for a pilip, you may get another george santos, which is the ousted congressman. they're trying to replace. but the important thing here, dana, is that this this district for a good 30 years, it was leaning democrat in the last few years. that's changed quite a bit. joe biden won this race, a beat trump by about eight points by eight points in 2020. and george santos lost to tom suozzi. bye by double digits in 2020. but just two years later santos was able to beat his democrat

, parts of nassau county no one here on long island, but also parts of queens. this is something that maasie philip. the republican candidate, has really been hitting hard all of her ads in recent days have hit suozzi on immigration, painting him as soft on immigration. suozzi has talked about, uh, mazi phillips meet put maasie pelham being unclear about her views and pro pro pro life, and someone who would support an abortion ban, neither of these candidates, interestingly enough, has really glommed onto the standard bearer of their party. so maasie pelops spent weeks avoiding questions about whether she had even voted for donald trump in the last election. and tom suozzi has slammed biden on the border. president biden on border issues, much as many democrats have done in cities like new york and around new york and has said he doesn't want to ask for the president's help in campaigning. i can tell you this, whatever happens here today, both of these candidates, a plan. it's any plan to run again in november, just a few months away, but we will see if this sub
