when i went down for the natalee holloway case, it was my case. i just stood and watched as they conducted the interviews. so we're really in kind of in more of an assistant mode in these kinds of cases. and so what's being done? the hands on work is actually being done by the authorities there. the other thing i think is really important, people tend to think the fbi will come down in mass and that we will have a large presence. that's not true at all. there are very few fbi agents that are likely on the ground. if this happened in the united states, i can promise you we'd probably have upwards of 100 fbi agents. we'd have the state police. we've had the county police. but in this case, you just don't have that expertise. and that's unfortunate. >> it's extremely especially for a family who they want her home. they want to know where she is and what has happened. and here's some of what we do know about sudiksha. she's a 20 year old student, a junior at the university of pittsburgh, described by her family as bright, as ambitious, studying to bec

i want to bring in a private investigator who worked with natalee holloway's family. alabama teen who went missing during a high school graduation trip in aruba in 2005. t.j. ward joins me now. t.j., i know that you have spoken with sudiksha family. can you tell us how they're doing and what advice or counsel you are giving them? >> i talked to. >> the mother last. >> night, and. >> i tried to tell her that i've been there and done this as i did 2005, to try to get her to maybe bring us on board, because i'm very familiar with this type of investigation, as i did with natalee holloway's case. this feels like a whole new story, as it was in 2005. everybody believes that she's in the water. she drowned, and we can hardly believe that she's somewhere. law enforcement needs to work hands on with. hopefully the fbi and other government agents with our country and try to look at witnesses, look at video cameras, talk to people that may have seen her, the people that she traveled with and try to get answers. >> my god, as a mother, just i cannot imagine what that conversatio

. >> aishah: it is hard not to think about natalee holloway and what happened in aruba.uation that her family went through and the whole country was watching along with her family. obviously it is so sad to see an american family send their daughter off for a vacation, a fun trip and to never get her back. are you hopeful so that you are going to find some answers quickly turned back these situations, time is of the essence. >> time is of the essence. we were on this right away as soon as we found out. contacted our federal counterparts that have some presents down there to make sure everybody was engaged as quickly as possible. working on a lot of things that i cannot really talk about. but believe me, there is a lot of information that is being looked at right now. a lot of different things when it comes to electronic communications, all these other things, but you're right. time is of the essence. we want to make sure we are doing everything in our power. dominican authorities are doing what they can with the helicopters. they are doing everything they can out there.

but having this individual is very similar to the natalee holloway situation. know, having investigators, some investigators focus in on him. that's very important to figure out what he because his information, he was the last one to see her alive allegedly is very important. >> when you get several different versions of what happened from someone in your experience, do these stories often have kernels of truth in them that investigators can sort of use to go on, to try to figure out what really happened? >> absolutely. because the possibility that this individual may have been involved in her disappearance, there may be some parts. so an individual, when they're being investigated, they may say little bits of truth along the lines where they're trying to tie up a lie and they're trying to cover up their tracks and to lead the investigators. so there may be some kernels of truth in there. so that's why investigators who and from what i understand is the fbi is involved, the legal attache from the from the dominican republic are involved. so their expertise will
