natalie? >> it's amazing too that the staff of "charlie hebdo" have already met to plan this week's weekly, which will be going out and tens of thousands of more copies distributed. what about the police presence there for this rally? the police have now -- under threat by terror cells. what did you see as you came in this morning to start your reporting? >> reporter: yeah, about two hours ago or so when i was coming in, it was still very, very dark. i saw a lot of police presence, i saw barricades stacked up along the main route. so things are moving. we know, for example, there will be 1,900 troops, displaced throughout the city. we know there will be checking gutters prior to people arriving, checking gutters. there will be snipers on the roof. police will be plain-clothed throughout the city. police are being told to carry weapons at all times. they've been told to stay away from social media because as we know, sometimes if you tweet or go to facebook, if it's gps enabled, they can tell y

natalie? >> we know the prime minister is very very popular there in india. what about the relationship with president obama? they met in washington a few months ago, now they are meeting again. so is this -- is this considered something that perhaps will relinquish tensions between the two countries, their growing friendship? >> reporter: much has been made of that personal connection we are seeing between president obama and the prime minister. we saw that this morning in full display when president obama arrived, got off his airplane there. they shook hands for quite some time. it's a very affectionate welcome. the prime minister went to washington in september last year. they had a very cordial meting as well. president obama took him to martin luther king's memorial. take him on some kind of impromptu tour as well. there is some hope here that this personal connection we are seeing between the two leaders can translate into better ties into better diplomatic ties between the two countries

natalie? >> we know the search has called off now because of the murky water. but this is the nicest day you've experienced since you've been there. what does it look like for the coming 24 48 hours as far as improving weather conditions? >> reporter: we can tell you, the sun is about to go down. there's a lot of sunlight here. the equator runs through this nation. you have a little over 12 hours of sunlight. it gets light about 4:45 in the morning and the sun goes down at 5:00 5:30. there are ships, planes and helicopter that are searching the key here is to get divers in the water for prolonged periods. the people who are missing are to be in more than 100 feet of water. divers can scuba dive. the conditions weren't so bad but they said the visibility was zero. that wasappointing because it wasn't rainy today. that leads you to believe it may take a while for divers to have the proper visibility to be able to recover bodies in much larger numbers. >> as we said the families just wait and wait. thank you so much gary tuchman reporting, live from surabaya thank
