remember when lindsay academy or lindsay school, when it was active, when it went into existence in tulsa. this is just some information about the school as they operated in the muskogee nationday schools, boarding schools, intermediate, labor, and high schools. the schools were funded by some of the payments we had received through agreements from the federal government. we passed a law -- there was a law passed in the 1890's that about two thirds of the income we were receiving from pasture lands we leased out to people, that income would also go to support our school system in the muskogee nation. we also managed, or we had as part of the school system a couple of orphanages. one of the orphanages was actually here in okmulgee. one of the managers we had at the time, we were introduced to him earlier, was alexander posey. he actually lived here and managed one of the orphanages in okmulgee at the time. a lot of people can see an image of that -- our visitors will say, where is that, can we see that? no, it is actually not standing today. this is the last remaining piece of plaster from the original construction of the council house. i imagine there is a lot of history in

national black nurses association. she has been in this role since 1995 with 35 years of government relation experience. sitting on multiple prestigious boards and advisory boards for health, last year she received the american academytanding leadership. the exponential growth and the diversity of -- in the diversity of the population in the united states is not reflected in the health care profession. black nurses are critical for providing black communities with letter health care. compared to their white counterparts, they are more likely to practice in underserved areas that comprise a large percentage of black families and are more likely to accept patients who are covered by medicaid. improving the access to care is only one dimension of how they serve their community. they also have been linked to improving the quality of care african-americans receive. the national black nurses association was organized in 1971 and represents over 3000 african-americans, registered nurses, licensed, vocational practical nurses and retired nurses from the u.s., eastern caribbean and africa with over 114 chapters in over 34 states. their mission is to serve as the voice for black nurses and diverse populations, ensuring equal

national level. and ftfo and the representatives of the department of police accountability meet regularly. in fact, the representatives of the d.p. amplet have attended trainings at the academy that have been offered by the ftfo unit. the last two recommendations on this slide, 18.2 and 18.3 -- they state that they should create an on-scene checklist for use of force incidents and they need to develop a protocol for proper development in the handling of the officers' statements. as in other areas we have made tremendous progress. these recommendations speak to how supervisors investigate use of force incidents as well as how the officers articulate and memorialize the use of force. approximately two years ago we developed and implemented our first supervisory use of force evaluation form that has since been updated and it will be updated a second time with the adoption of department general order 5.0 revisions to it. the department general order 5.0 requires that officers include certain information in their incident report, narrative or statement. such information includes the subject's actions in obtaining the use of force and the efforts to deescalate prior to the use of
