the national association of home builders and wells fargo say lousy weather this month has made home builders less confident about the market for new, single-family homes. and as our cover story explains, there's even less good news for recent college graduates---many of them are paying off student loans and are unable to save for a downpayment on a home or condo. it's bad enough that builder confidence as measured by the national association of home builders and wells fargo is down ten points to 46. anything below 50 is considered 'poor" in expected sales and home buyers looking during the next six months. the lowest in nearly a year. much of it due to the worst february weather in years across much of the country. but there's also a lack of first- time buyers from among recent college graduates because many of them are still paying off student loans. the national governors association, this is an annual thing, they come to washington for weekend meetings culminating in this morning meeting at the white house in the state dining room. there's plenty to talk about in terms of policy. minimum wage, the president wants to push the federal minimum wage to $10.10 from the $7.25 now. a lot of states have beaten him to the punch, but the president wants to raise it. the republican governors are resisting that initial active from the white house from washington, as well, and it's unlikely to go anywhere in congress for the foreseeable future. republican governors feel they have a story to tell. ohio and other states say deregulation, this is a familiar stance, but they say it is working in their states as those economies in those states in particular seem to be improving and the unemployment rate going down. you mentioned marijuana, two very prominent governors, democratic governors of colorado and washington represented here. that initiative also sort of the buzz, if you'll pardon the phrase here at the white house over the course of last sev

president and ceo of the national association of manufacturers. i want to say to all who are here that there will be devastating impacts across our economy of the highway trust fund is allowed to run out of funds later this year. we must not let that happen. here are the sobering facts. cbo and dod estimate that the highway trust fund may run out of funds as early as septembe september 2014, which would create cash flow problems for states during the critical summer construction season. due to the uncertainty leading up to that bleak scenario, states already beginning to develop contingency plans to prepare for reductions in federal transportation funding which includes cutting pending projects from the current funding plans. this is terrible. for businesses, for workers and for our nation. according to georges department of transportation, the federal funding is cut quote we wouldn't be able to fund any new projects. officials from other states have made similar statements and the effects are very negative to say the least. as states postponed, p

as far as the amendment i offered this is supported by the nra come at the national association of gunrights and gun owners of america. all three groups will oppose an attempt to strike this language and any attempt to replace it with a study will be opposed by the national rifle association, gun owners of america, national association of gun rights, and this will be seen as a vote there it is to replace, this will be seen as a vote as to whether or not you support law-abiding citizens rights to carry a gun and a parking lot. this is a big deal throughout a love of particularly rural america where we have people that do go hunting and might show up in a parking lot. i am not willing to let us wait to go to the supreme court and looks on from kentucky go to jail or be punished or fined for accidentally shooting up in a parking lot without a rifle or shotgun in their truck. so this is a big deal and i hope everybody will see it as such. a replacement effort will be seen as law-abiding gun owners in america. >> the department of justice are they represented here today? i know they have ma
