the republican national committee eventually put its money back into the state.as fired, led the assault on behalf of roy moore in alabama. they had talk shows and their hosts on their side, and none of it worked. there should have been a victory for republicanism in alabama. it has turned into defeat. this will be carved up in the coming days in terms of the analysis of who voted in to did not vote. what we do know is the turnout of the black community was even higher than president obama managed to get in 2012. the strategy of getting the black vote out from doug jones clearly worked. that would not have been enough to be something else has happened. whether he has enough of those soft republicans in city suburbs to vote for him, we will see. and whether or not enough of those republicans, the hard christian right, the hard conservative right, whether in our stayed at home to deprive him of this victory. also, the write—in vote, if you don't like any, you put a name and say you vote for them, thatis a name and say you vote for them, that is upwards of 1.6—1.7%.
