the r2p program is a cooperative agreement between the national institute of justice, the bureau of justice assistance, the office of criminal justice programs of the school of public affairs of american university and the national center for state courts. the purpose of the project is really to deliver the best research that's out there, including new and emerging research that will be relevant to the problems that the field is facing. so, we came up with the project of trying to develop ways to more timely and in a more interactive way share what has been learned, so that people can, as the name implies, move from the theory of the research to putting it into practical application. the r2p project tries to help people by condensing, through our efforts ahead of time, to distill really what is the best evidence that's available that's relevant to the work of people who work in drug courts. so, we are then able to, by using experts and by preparing background information, to give people the very latest guidance on how they should do their work in order to promote effectiveness in what they
