we begin our covera molette green on the national mall. wove seen protesters take to some of the streets they're in d.c. >> you know what with, aaron? i haven't seen any protesters yet. we've been hearing chants of usa. this gate is set to open at 6:00. so in just minutes, i can't tell from my vantage point that they started to let people in because i'm way in the back here. this crowd has swelled to several hundred here at third and indiana. much bigger than when we got here at 4:30 had morning .there were about 20 people out here. lots of faces in the crowd, young, old, everything in between. people from all over. texas all the way to connecticut. i spoke to one young man who this political shift. >>. it's important because i want to see all the work we did to get president obama in place to go much better than what it has been for the last eight years. in your country, you feel you're wrong unless you agree with democrats. it's time for real hope and change when it comes to that. >> so so far, a peaceful group. when we get inside, there

those flatbed trucks just brought in more fencing to the national mall. are live here on 7th street in the middle of the mall. that structure there is one of many that will hold the jumbotron's here, for the folks that cannot get too close to the capital and don't have tickets, they will be able to watch between 4th street and all the way on the other side of the washington monument, 17th street is where the folks will be able to set up. officials are strongly urging that visitors use public transportation, but keep in mind that there are some stations that will be closed. willof metro's 91 stations be closed due to enhanced security the fbi telling us that it is an all hands on deck operation for them, from hostage negotiators to fighting chemical attack. everyone and everything will be here on the national mall and around the u.s. capitol grounds to make sure that everything goes smoothly. as far as traffic and road closures, keep in mind, folks, the perimeter of the vehicles will be restrictive and large and roads will start to close at 3:00 thursday m

it gives us a good vantage point of everything down on the national mall. the view behind us is spectacular. it gives you a great shot of the u.s. capitol, where the 58 presidential inauguration will take place. the setup continues two days before this historic event. you can see the risers on pennsylvania avenue. this is the parade route. we are talking everything from the parade to security. the joint task force in the national capital region, comprised of over 5000 service members, will lead military support on friday. there is a lot to set up as they get ready. hundreds of thousands expected, homeland security expecting over 800,000 people to attend, with tickets and without. we spoke to one veteran who is excited to be here. >> in person he is a caring, capable individual. that is what got our attention to begin with. coming from a german family in illinois, i can tell you we need to get things done. tag for theice inauguration could surpass $200 million. more than half the bill will be paid by taxpayers, the other by big money donors and corporations.
