investigators with the national transportation safety board are examining the charred remains of the charter bus and semi trailers. they're also sifting through conflicting witness accounts. some of the first eyewitnesses to come forward after thursday's horrific crash were bonnie and joe curran. they said the big rig was on fire when it crossed the median, sideswiped the sedan and crashed into the bus. >> i looked over and saw the fedex truck coming straight for me. he was in flames already. >> the fedex truck was on fire? >> yes, it was. >> reporter: ryan came last weekend to say he was in his yard on the opposite side of the highway and did not see flames. >> there was no like, bracing up to it. there was no smoke. there was no tire flat, nothing like that. >> reporter: sunday afternoon, mark rosekind said investigators are looking into both accounts. >> our fire expert reviewed the median and the highway and found no physical evidence of fire before the impact. nothing is ruled out yet. >> reporter: except in the investigation, it's to look at both driver's phone and medical reco

in 2011, investigators with the national transportation safety board learned p-g and e's use of the false information is what led to the explosion. a conviction on all 12 counts could cost the agency six million dollars. no person within the agency is named in the indictment, and while this is a criminal case, we don't know whether any person could go to jail if, indeed, p- and e is found guilty. p-g and e released a statement tonight regarding the 12-count indictment. the agency expresses its regret about the incident. and all who were affected by it. san bruno was a tragic accident. we take accountability and are truly sorry. regardless of the legal steps we want our customers to know that nothing will detract us from making sure our service is the safest and most reliable service in the country. p-g- and- e says it continues to make strides in the aftermath of the explosion. the agency recently opened the new gas control center in san ramon. and is also attempting to repair pipelines currently at risk. one person is dead and four others in the hospital. after a fatal fire near the cow
