well, the national weather service says some of these waves can break as high as about 20ft. saw examples of just how dangerous the ocean and the water can be from over the weekend. we know that a man died on the sonoma coast while fishing at crystal cove. emergency crews there saying that he was standing on rocks and waves swept him to sea. they rescued him and tried to perform cpr, but crews pronounced him dead shortly thereafter. in the east bay, two men needed rescuing after their boat capsized. this happened near point hercules. the men there, a father and son, survived by hanging on to pylons before crews came and pulled them to shore and then down in capitola. police say they went on multiple rescues. nothing too serious, but it was enough to prompt them to shut down the capitola beach and the wharf because surf conditions were just too rough and it's going to stay that way today, according to the national weather service. they say avoid the coast if you can. those high surf advisory will stay on until about 9:00 tonight. we're live this morning in sausalito. i'm james
