there are thai navy s.e.a.l.s who say they are willing to stay in that cave with those boys until they're able to get them out which is, of course, a huge sacrifice and commitment, but again, it becomes the issue of risk and safety if those supply lines get cut off. >> so, they can't see. they're not good is swimmers. there's the issue of the mask getting dislodged during some fashion. the oxygen getting cut off. and there's a problem of them getting stuck. is there anything we're missing here? this is already pretty complicated? >> no that's about it. and, of course, as i said before, there's no margin of error. the big thing, and one of the aspects of the rescue that they're doing right now is that training. and even if they don't use that option, the training is good, because it gives the boys something to occupy their time. keep the morale up. and gives them something that they can do to help their own situation which is very important psychologically. >> janice, what is going on where you are? we saw activit

>> i think that decision was probably made by the navy s.e.a.l. doctor that had gotten in there first. a doctor and nurse was able to get in first and assess them. i think based on thassessment, they probably got a marching order who should go first medically speaking. as a dive team leader i would defer to medical experts on that. the only thing that i would consider is i would maybe want to take my healthiest boy first as a proof of concept on the dive and once we got one out, we know that the confidence level of those remaining when they hear one got out successfully, that would maybe calm them down a little bit. so i mean, the doctor definitely would have the override but i would prefer myself as the tif team leader to take the healthiest first to test the process. >> i have been reading that the most treacherous part of this hours long journey submerged why are water with the divers is the first kilometer because they have to squeeze through a narrow flooded channel. i think we have -- you can see this is remarkable what they are going throug

a tie former navy s.e.a.l. did die in part of the efforts. all of the boys and the coach are in the hospital. we're told they're able to see their anxious families through a glass window. they're in isolation. matt is with us. tell me what we know now. >> reporter: well, ali, it's hard to say. what we know is from the previous groups there were three groups of boys in rounds of four. the first two groups what we know from the press conference this morning from thai officials, they said the boys are doing remarkably well. that's because they showed very little signs of any serious medical conditions. they had some signs of high po therm ya. there were two boys with signs of pneumonia. everything else, they seemed to avoid serious tragedy. they've been quarantined. the reason why is because it's both the officials are worried that they might transmit diseases to the population at large because of fungal materials inside the cave, or their immune systems might be compromised after so much time in the cave without food or water. >> we'll keep a c

so we don't know how long it's going to take for those navy s.e.a.l. divers to make their way through the next kilometer of this cave system. we know the water is extremely strong. we know the passageway is very narrow. is in fact they've said they're going to have to widen it to get other teams and their equipment through to this location where they think this football team is. this location, it is called pattaya beach. it's a massive cavern, well known to locals. that's why they think these kids went all the way through the cave system to this particular spot. it is like a beach. the water apparently is crystal clear. but it's a large cavern. it's elevated. it's spacious. they think that it's dry. which is why they hope that that is where they are currently located. now, there's a mini command system -- command center i should say that has been set up several hundred meters from that t junction, which is a kilometer from pattaya beach. there are some 60 navy s.e.a.l. divers that are located at that command center. they are in their knees up to water,
