it's the story of a moment where the nazarene encountered a soldier. the soldier walked up to him and told him he had someone ill in his home, and asked if he might take action to be helpful. as jesus began to walk with him he said, you don't need to come with me. he said, i am a man under authority. i tell one to do this and he does it. he said, you say the word and that servant under my household will be healed. and the words that struck me from that story were there in that jesus was, amazed. story --r point in any at no other point in any story did you hear he was amazed, except when speaking to a soldier. he saw orientation to authority. he saw faith. let me say on this most holy of days, for those of us who claim christ as lord, we're amazed, too. we are humbled. we see out today and courage at large in soldiers and families gathered here, and i just want to assure you on behalf of people all across the united states that in these troubled times, it is part of the world. your courage and your valor still amaze us, the american people. we just wan
