nbc bay area's bob redell joins us live if oakland international. bob, flights delayed as a result now. what's the the aftermath we're seeing? >> reporter: and there's still plenty of residual delays. i was inside the terminal and there's plenty of yellow on the departure screen. this is what it looked like when we arrived this morning. it still looks like that. you can see there's lots of yellow next to the southwest airlines flights, which indicates those delays. most delays for 20 to 30 minutes. we did not see any cancellations. it was around 7:03 this morning when southwest experienced a computer problem and asked the faa to temporaily stop its planes from taking off which took about an hour. a number of passengers tweeted their frustration. according to flightaware.com, more than 1,700 flights were delayed nationwide, which represents more than 40% of southwest's flights for today. today's technical was not related to the one back last year with holiday cancellations and much longer delays than today. >> we'll see when we get to denver what hap
