tapping into one of our local psychiatrists from sam ford with some answers. >>> welcome back to nbc bay area news tonight. it's one of the bay area's only remaining roller rinks, and it's now closed indefinitely because of flooding. antioch's paradise skate is under several inches of water. let's bring in jodi hernandez inside the ring. >> reporter: i'm at paradise skate in antioch, where folks are on flood watch once again. the doors have been sealed with foam, as the rain falls outside. a couple of weeks ago, this place was hit hard by the flood waters, about 6 inches of water made it into the roller rink, covering the carpet and ruining the maple wood floors, about 9,000 square feet. i'm going to show you -- it's hard to see with the naked eye, but we're going to show you how warped the floor is from that flood. this is supposed to be smooth and flat. not the case right now. you can see they've got the mop vaks out, the fans out. it's going to cost about $400,000 to repair this roller rink. but the owner is determined to fix it because hundreds of kids rely on the rink for entertainment.

welcome to nbc bay area news at 4:30. we have crews fanned out to bring you the latest on these storms, and our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri is standing by with our next round of rain coming in. let's start with showing you one of the communities hit hardest by the latest round of rain. this is drone video of felton in the santa cruz mountains. flooded streets, evacuations, water rescues, cars submerged under water and the water rising into those homes. and this is the view from the ground. you can see parks and homes also under water. some drivers had to be rescued. as for the roadways in the santa cruz mountains, this is southbound 17 near the summit. a landslide has shut down traffic there forcing drivers to find another way to get to santa cruz. farther south this is video from sky ranger of 101 in gilroy. both north and southbound directions are shut down. cars have to take side streets to get around this watery mess. it is hard to get around the roadways. nbc bay area skyranger is live overhead. the chp reopened
