sports teams? today three teams in santa clara county revealing some of their plans. that means the 49ers, sharks, and earthquakes. here's nbc bay area's marianne favro. >> reporter: i'm here at avaya stadium where the san jose earthquakes play, and so far the team is only being cleared to do small group training. management is hoping later this summer the team will see more action, and they're not the only ones. >> touchdown. >> reporter: before the san francisco 49ers can celebrate another touchdown, the team has to get to the point where they can once again practice. today the team president shared with san francisco county supervisors what the near future may look like as covid-19 restrictions ease. >> we imagine testing of our essential football staff on a regular basis. we also plan to strictly separate our business and football staff. tentatively training camp is july 27th. >> reporter: the san jose sharks are hoping to get back on the ice soon, starting with reopening solar for america ice on june 14th. but they only plan to use 6% of the rink's skating capacity. >> we envision hosting a camp for players in august or

sports. >> and they're now using their voices to bring about change well beyond their campus. here's nbc'sthony flores. >> reporter: natasha harris spends more time juggling than running these days. the san jose state soccer player is still recovering from a knee injury, but that's not stopping her from kickstarting a national movement for social justice. she teamed up with a pair of uc santa barbara soccer players who had the idea of a fund-raiser for black lives matter. harris recruited her teammate, darien reed, and caleb simmons of the spartan men's basketball team forming athlete for changes. their plan, to get student athletes to walk, run, bike, or swim 8.46 miles in honor of george floyd. >> that number was amazing. now it's engrained in everybody's head. nobody can get it out. >> reporter: reed ran fnear her home in southern california. >> simple occurrences like this happen every day for people and end up leading to death. so it's important for me to i use whatever power i have to speak up. >> reporter: and she wasn't alone. more than 100 college athletic programs across the coun
