neal, i'd love to start with you.eople here today know the basics about common core but others may not. i thought it might be good to start with what is common core and what are some of the misperceptions that we might have about it. >> yeah. so there are a lot of misconceptions about common core. most basically what it is is you can say, i think with most people agreeing, at a minimum, it is a set of standards in math and reading developed by the government and that is where any agreement ends. the reality is it goes beyond just being some guidelines as it is often presented but it is specifically about structuring the curriculum in math and english and with a connection to science and social studies, and it's connected to federally funded tests, the park test and sbac test, on which schools and districts are held accountable. so your district or your school can be punished by how you do on those tests. of course, what is tested is what's taught. that is why this is about curriculum. the other misconception people sa

neal haskell, one of the country's premiere forensic entomologists. dr.askell analyzed the eggs and larvae from edna posey's body. flies lay eggs, which develop into larvae and then into flies. but in reading the medical examiner's report, dr. haskell noticed an inconsistency. at the autopsy, the medical examiner said he found eggs but not larvae. and he noticed something else. at the original autopsy, the eggs were scraped from the body and placed in a petri dish. the scrapings also contained bits of flesh and blood. this meant that the eggs had three additional days to feed on the flesh and develop before they were analyzed. >> i'm trying to avoid saying the cops screwed up. i'm trying to be diplomatic. >> dr. haskell analyzed some of the eggs found on edna posey's body. after three years, they were so dry they were almost dust. they were then placed in a saline solution to rehydrate them. dr. haskell believes these eggs were on edna posey's body for only a short time. meaning that edna posey was killed sometime late saturday night or early sunday morni
