, although it is conceivable the aircraft was, there are land masses, belitung island and also borneo nearbyso in theory, it could be related to the aircraft. but the key is for investigators to go there in a helicopter or send guys on the ground and find out what happens. sometimes when an aircraft goes down in a more remote wilderness environment it takes a few days to locate it. >> indonesia has admitted they're not equipped to do this kind of search, but they remain in charge of the search. is there any question about their ability to deal with what is turning out to be a very complicated international effort? >> i think they're pretty well situated to take care of this. indonesia, malaysia and other countries in the region will continually conduct search and rescue operations. when this happens, they can come together, and they can work together as a coordinated team. so i am fairly confident that, you know, this will be managed in a professional manner and at some point we'll find out what happened to that aircraft and where the location is. >> does it bother you that the search area k

the coastal portions of borneo the island of borneo nearby here the marshy landscape.this is what you're looking at of course this complicates the matters when it comes to this pattern over the next couple of days and the forecast. >> pedram thank you for that. i want to bring in alastair rosenschein, aviation expert. what do you make of this news now that they've called off that search because of the bad weather, alastair? >> it's not surprising anybody who has been in that area during a thunderstorm downpour will know it's quite impossible to even walk down street. you have to take cover because the sheer weight of water falling is immense. then you get the downdrops as well. on the sea it will be even more predictable because of very large waves that conform very quickly in these equally conditions. >> we know that authorities say there's about 100 feet of depth there. even though you have this terrible weather, they think they know sonar has found where the bulk of this wreckage is. so once the weather clears, they know exactly where to search alastair. they'll be
