. >> well, we have ned ryan from a conservative think tank who is very concerned about 2018 and the democratser the house if the gop does not pass any key legislation. are your colleagues, sir, concerned about that? what would happen to the president and his agenda if the democrats held the house? >> i think it's a front to the american people and a front to this president and a front frankly to the house. if we don't get the work done and we need to move on now to tax reform. you know, ronald reagan clearly understood what needed to be done in the country. we came out of the '70s with high interest rates and high unemployment and the country was in a malaise and he lowered the tax burden. he lowered the regulatory burden and the economy took off and within less than two years, we created 300,000, 400,000, 500,000 jobs a month. we can do the same thing today. the president understands the burden of regulations on small business. we have focused on, frankly, that and the house in terms of small business, as well as financial institutions and reducing the burden on small community banks. north

ned. walk me you through why he should resign. >> that would be an understatement, trish. what we have to start to acknowledge, both paul ryanll were barely tolerable opposition leaders and they have proven that they are not governing leaders. go back to january 26th, they went in front of the camera, at the republican retreat in philadelphia, said we will get tax reform and health care done about it august recess because we believe that we have an obligation to fulfill our campaign commitments. and so when mitch mcconnell comes out and says that the president and his supporters have excessive expectations, i'm sorry, sir, you actually made those promises for seven years in regards to repealing obamacare, but also clearly stated what you were going to do starting beginning of this year. when you can not drive a message or a narrative, when you can not get your caucuses together to actually get legislation passed, trish, the leadership is so bad i'm beginning to think it might be intentional. trish: that is interesting. to pursue that a little further, here, evan, there is a lot of resentment within the republican party that
