and neera tanden is with us, she is president and ceo of the center for american progress and neera tandenred coronavirus earlier in the summer and has recovered. how are you feeling? >> i'm totally fine now but i will say that when i was sick and i was sick for six weeks, when i initially got the virus, and felt sick, it got much, much worse in the days after. so how you feel to begin with is not how you'll feel five, six, seven, ten days later. >> mike, what neera said is not good news for the trump campaign and for president trump. it's probably something that's going to last and affect him for the rest of the campaign. >> we hope every victim, from the president of the united states, to the millions of people who have had this recover fully, but it is a hard challenge. the president has been trying to change the subject of the election from firing donald trump to here's what's wrong with joe biden. now the coronavirus, which is not an issue that the president does well politically on will be the focus. the country will have good wishes for the president and for the first lady to recove

joining me now is neera tanden. president and ceo of the center for american progress and a former senior adviser to president obama. thank you all for being here. neera, i'm going to go to you first. you know campaigns. you've seen these inside and out. when i see donald trump san frpd and not miami-dade county, not broward count and and hillsborough county, not tampa, i say, hmm, he's trying to limit the losses. if he's in ohio and western pennsylvania, not philly, that just as somebody who has worked in campaigns just a little teeny bit, that tells me that they're just trying to limit the popular vote damage. are you seeing something different than what i'm seeing? >> well, i do think he's always been a person who has reached out to his base. one of his big challenges is he has never reached out to people who didn't vote for him. but i think it's even more telling that he's campaigning in georgia and iowa. i mean, these are states he won by a considerable amount four years ago. iowa he won by nine points. ohio, n
