san francisco is a city filled with neighbor parks.more clean and vibrant than others and a lot of that is due to volunteers. a new effort kicks off today in a community that desperately needs the help. carolyn tyler reports on a group called parks 94124. >> there are 225 neighborhood parks in san francisco. and many have been adopted by community groups. but there are 11 in bayview hunters point that no one has looked out for until now. >> many of the parks that we come to admire have constantly gone to park meetings, pressure park commissioners. >> the force behind parks 94124. she and three other women who live in the zip code have started an advocacy group to revitalize their neighborhood parks. >> they have been just kind of neglected. part of it the usership has been down. it's really not a priority for the city or for people either. >> the parks director says city government can't do it alone. >> no parks department anywhere in the country can be successful without committed volunteers and park stewards. >> parks 94124 envisions
