i spoke with sergeant jd nelson of alameda county sheriff's department this morning. he says just after 11:47 last night, sheriff's deputies pulled over a '94 honda civic that matched the description of a stolen car. when deputies questioned the driver he put the car into reverse, slammed into the deputy's car and took off. the deputies chased him down b street here in hayward, speeds reaching 60 miles an hour. when they reached this intersection at grand and b street, the suspect drove through a red light. that's when he hit a bart cop who was patrolling the area. the hayward bart station is located at this same intersection. the bart cop is in the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. but the suspect is looking at serious charges. >> when he put the car in reverse and comes at the deputies slamming into their car you're basically assaulting the officer at that time. we don't know if he was coming at the deputies, temperature he knew or didn't know they were out of car or whether he was aiming for them and accidentally hit the car. so at this point we don't kno
