i think this is our fourth or fifth time now along van ness. taking a look over my shoulder and from the gopro we have mounted on the truck, you get a sense for the traffic in this area. it's exactly what you would expect. big construction project, cpmc building a new hospital and also building a new medical building directly across the street from the hospital between post and geary. so the entire road is completely torn up. what that means from a practical stance is they're trying to get as many cars off van ness as quickly as possible. that work underway right now. there is a big trench in the road. we saw workers in there this morning. we had a chance to talk with the contractor who is working on that big project, and he said so far everything is going according to schedule. what that means for drivers who are going to the area, it means that van ness will be closed down again between post and geary from midnight friday, so again, this morning, all the way through sunday evening. no word yet if they're going to try to beat the deadline. the
