and the stakes are high for netflix to get it right. we look at why tomorrow's nfl games are critical. but we begin with today's markets. john chu -- dom chu has the numbers. >> as we talk about the move in the markets right now, we're seeing a bounce. we're going to try to close out on a high note. we are right near session highs for the three major indexes. the dow is up roughly 200 points or a half of 1% gain. bigger percentage gain, three quarters of 1% for the larger s&p 500, currently at 6,017, up about 43 points. at the highs, we were up 45. so again, right near the session highs. that means your intraday trading range, 6,099 is the current record high. the nasdaq, really leading the advance here, up one full per felt, 197 points for the nasdaq. from a macro perspective turning towards cryptocurrency, we're seeing a move within a broader trading range over the last month and a half or so. bitcoin prices at 98,200, a strong move higher. on the high end, since about november 11, we're talking about 108,000 thereabouts for bitcoin,

julia boorstin on this major netflix event. julie, how do you feel about netflix here?i think it's kind of an interesting place. it's not cheap, but i think that these nfl events are really critical, because this is actually an audience that's very comfortable with ads. they expect ads, they off havete to watch ads because they want to see the content live. so, being able to crack this market and execute it on really well and drive growth here is critical to the ad tier that they are trying to build out. and i think it is also kind of a competitive positioning thing, where if they take more away from tv, they get advertisers more and more confident in their own ad market they're trying to build. i think it's important for both the consumer side and also the ad base building. >> i think what's really going to be interesting here, they're getting much more into the live space, but they've had so many glitches and so many issues, and i think this one is probably the one that went off the best, and they really need to obviously get that technology under control here. but i

netflix reports that nearly 200 countries tuned in to the netflix christmas day pregame show and netflix a third of netflix's concurrent viewers globally were watching and that viewership was behind only the jake paul-mike tyson fight. netflix saying that they had more concurrent viewers of any christmas than in the past four years thanks to those games. now netflix is bringing in an estimated $150 million in ad revenue for yesterday's two games which is the same it reportedly cost to license them, though that does not include the cost of beyonce's halftime show. all that spend is expected to bring in not just the ad dollars but more subscribers and keep current subscribers happy. netflix is continuing its investment in sports just five days ago signing a deal to show the fifa women's world cups in 2027 and 2031 and in january netflix launches its wwe shows with its live wwe raw shows on monday night. and netflix is using its sports investments to promote its original series like "squid games" second season which premiered today on the heels of the nfl games. this is the last quarter tha
