you're in nevada. 25% of the electorate is a latino. this is a state donald trump lost by 22.5 percentage points in 2016. dean heller is up for re-election. he's the senator, he's the incumbent and he's trying to hold onto his seat. three years ago dean heller gave up a campaign contribution that donald trump made to him. the spokesman at the time said it was over donald trump's position on immigration. earlier this week dean heller was one of those 13 republican senators that called on the administration to change its policy on family separation. we just heard from dean heller. he spoke for no more than three minutes at the nevada convention. no words on immigration. they're trying to push their tax message plan. the president, as you said, should be taking the stage here any moment. just yesterday there was a lot of house republicans over in congress that were rattled because the president sent out a tweet that all immigration plans in terms of any legislative action should be pushed until after november. roop-r really throwing immigr

>> it depends on the demographics of nevada. i think there's a big trump factor in nevada.n't really play in swing states the summer like that where there's a lot of big business ties, las vegas, and a lot of industry as well. and of course, he thinks it is a winning strategy. >> speaking which the president is predicting a red wave in november. so let's talk again about which accomplishments the president can tell to fuel that red wave and should the democrats be worried about getting washed out by a red wave? >> i think is pretty safe to say democrats should not worry about a red way. the whole blue wave ideas kind of it ebbs and flows. we are not sure if there will be a blue way. in terms of right now, it is a mix. you will see droplets in different areas. i think california and republicans are vulnerable are poised to do really well because they have the gas tax repeal on the ballot. you look at somewhere like florida, rick scott is pulling way ahead of bill nelson. that is positive for him. but it really depends. a red wave probably just the president tries to talk up

vivian, i know that you were with the president yesterday in neva nevada. heard that which he said. let's start with what he said today then we'll go to what you saw at that particular rally in nevada. what do you make of his statement, again, about saying no judges or court cases? >> well, the president has obviously battle with the judiciary, he has been from the very beginning on a number of issues but especially with regard to immigration. he feels the justice system has essentially thwarted his efforts to try to crack down on immigration and fund measures that would toughen our security at the border and so this is obviously something that is very much on his mind, since the beginning of his presidency. even with regard to the travel ban that we saw last year, and other measures, he believes that the court system basically is an impediment to him getting this through. and so that obviously very much playing out now in this current crisis, where the president believes that his efforts are being thwarted once again by the judicial system. >> i'd like to

fire is burning out of ntrol south of the nevada state capitol. that fire started yesterday morning in a rugged area for miles from the state capital building in carson city. you can see the map. emergency crews are evacuating nearby neighoods. they are fighting strong wind and battling the flames. hopefully the wind will calm down so they can bring in aircraft. so far, no injuries are reporte >>> fire officials in southern california letting people go back home after a fire forced evacuations in a cavern near beverly hills. these are multi-million-dollar homes -- homes in the santa monica mountains. there is not much wind so it is not growing fast. it has burned 35 acres but no homes are in danger right now. investigators say the fire was started by a weed wacker. >>> there are two serious wildfires in colorado burning. the biggest is near durango. the newest fire is burning near the keystone ski resort, 60 miles west of denver. that first fire has burned within 200 yards of homes in silverthorne. 1300 people have been forced out of their homes.

i told you yesterday, we have about 300,000 veterans in the state of nevada. good men and women, patriotic, we'll take the call again, regardless of age to serve and defend this country. and i'm just pleased we both have come to the same conclusion that they deserve the best quality care and benefits that our nation has to offer. but saying that, there's a lot to be done. we need v.a. doctors, as has been mentioned several times. clearly it's a national issue. i'm working to get a veterans rural cemetery. our program care in las vegas and v.a. nursing facility in reno need improvement. and unfortunately, the veterans suicide issues remain quite a challenge in nevada. several times, as i mentioned, doctor shortages have been raised. but i think nevada has really felt the impact, especially in our urban areas like las vegas and even in our rural areas like elko, gardnerville. let me give an example. 2016, i was at the ribbon-cutting of a v.a. clinic. and with all the pomp and circumstances, and here we are in 2018 and they still don't have a full-time doctor. to

the senator from nevada. dean heller, who is considered one of the most vulnerable republicans and in a state like nevada where about 20 to 30% of the voters are hispanic, that is an issue where anything related to immigration is complex and it has real local importance. so he steered clear of that. the president was also interviewed by former governor mike huckabee, the father of sarah sanders. and the president was talking about his frustration with democrats saying that he could get something done on immigration with the help of democrats. we have heard that before. it's a drum beat that the president continues. here's a part of that interview. >> it's the democrats' fault but it wouldn't be their fault for long if they sat down with us. we can make a deal so quickly. but the question is, do they mind having open borders and it's looking like they want open borders. and really crime to pour in. our job would be so much easier if we had what we need on border safety. we need the democrats to come to the tab
