. >> their batting and they're down to their final out tonight, the nevada legislature gave final approval to use taxpayer dollars on a new ballpark that would be right along the vegas strip. there's days president dave kaval who's had to answer questions from lawmakers in nevada as the governor's tried to ram this through quickly. the assembly approved the final version of the bill using 380 million dollars in taxpayer money. that's after a 25 to 15 vote today and the assembly that vote came after some minor changes were made. the senate accepted those changes with no debate just about an hour and a half ago. so the assembly said yes, today the went to the senate. they said, yeah, we're good with it, too. so now moves to the governor's desk backers sev said they'll continue to help establish vegas as the entertainment and sports capital of the world. with this new move again, still needs to go to the governor and mlb major league baseball must approve the move as well. but both the governor's signature and major league baseball's approval are considered mere formalities at this point, tho

the nevada legislature says the plan is in limbo until monday. the proposal calls for $380 million in public funds to help pay for $1.5 billion stadium. at the hearing earlier, some of the senators there were actually saying why should we pay so much when there's a billion dollar team and we have to shell out hundreds of millions and that could go to services like education and health care. if a vote comes next week and passes, it will head to lawmakers for more debate and a vote. if that bill passes, it would then head over to nevada's governor, who is expected to sign it into law. >>> this morning there's some slight relief for people living in and around the martinez refinery. scientists say there was no long-term damage to soil and it's safe to garden. you might recall back in november tons of heavy metal laden dust was released around the refinery. contra costa health leaders released reports saying the dust was not a risk to the soil. neighbors formed a group called healthy martinez and have urged the refinery to install something called a
