i'm kate larsen abc 7 news. now there are a lot of details involved in determining when this requirement will actually take effect the main issue when full fda approval comes for 12 to 15 year olds right now. only pfizer's vaccine is fully approved and only for people 16 and up depending on the timing the state anticipates. the requirement would apply to grades 7 through 12 starting either in january. or as late as july of next year for kids 11 and under it'll be a longer wait, even though the timing is still being determined. x today with dr. alok patel another member of our vaccine team. he joined me on our 3 pm show getting answers and here's his take. this is all based on that fda approval. so this is based on you know, all the safety and efficacy data coming out and people looking at people in our public health officials. look at these vaccines saying like yeah, these are great for our kids and that's that is a really reassuring thing for parents anyone out there who's paying attention about this here? you
