alcatraz island. earlier this year the national park service identified three new locations for an upgraded alcan ramirez ferry terminal. -- alcatraz ferry terminal. the first is the current home of the terminal which is at pier 31..5 along the embarcadero. if they keep the terminal there it would upgrade the site. the second possible terminal is located a few blocks away in fisherman's wharf at pier 41. the map sliding over. you can see that. the third and the most controversial site, however, is further to the west at pier 3 in fort mason. they are worried that it could create traffic problems. last night the parks service held a public meeting to get input on the three options. >> reporter: alcatraz island is one of the most popular tourists destinations in the world. people come from all parts of the planet to take the tour. the park service says that it wants to have a 50-year lease in place by this time next year. the service says that the three locations being considered all have their advantages and their disadvantages. >> we're in discussions with the port and we're moving along but we need to r
