news. san francisco police are investigating an attempted robbery on an offduty irs agent. he shot and wounded one suspect. it happened in the bayviewistrict. the irs agent was approached by suspects in a robbery attempt and opened fire hitting one of them in the torso. he is expected to survive. police detained another man as another possible suspect. officers are still on the scene trying to determine if there was a third suspect involved in the shooting. more in a live report coming up in our next half hour. >> a federal judge is now expected to decide tomorrow if a temporary stay will remain in place barring same sex couples from marrying. this after a ban on same sex marriages in california. judge vaughan walker wrote the evidence shows proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the california constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same sex couples. the stay preventing coupling from marrying could stay in effect until the entire appeals process is completed. >> that could be two or three years assuming this goes you'll the way through the 9th circuit and supreme court. >> judge walker's a victor

news this morning. a juvenile suspect is injured after an off-duty federal agent shot him during an attempted robbery. it happened overnight on marlon court in the bayview district. bob redell is live near the scene this morning. he has a look at what led up to the shooting. bob? >> reporter: good morning. it was midnight, dark out, hardly anyone around. the target of this potential crime was a woman getting her thing out of her car in this parking lot outside her housing complex at kirkwood and coral. all told, the two teens probably thought this would be an easy robbery, especially since one had a gun, but they had no idea who they were dealing off. turns out this woman was an off-duty irs agent who also happened to be armed. sfpd said they were robbing her at gun point, that's when she shot one of the teens in the stomach. he was taken to sf general. he is in critical condition. police were able to find his accomplice not far from here. he was arrested and taken into custody. the agent was not hurt. as of now, she is being interviewed by police. reporting live in san francisco, bob redell, nbc bay area news. >>> also new this morning, safety teams wi

bayview hunter's point. the second item is a grant with san francisco works commrks is the non-profit arm of the chamber of commerce through the wal-mart foundation to fund our new green skills academy, which is a training program for back office jobs as well as fuller installation and energy efficiency that we have begun this past summer. supervisor maxwell: back office jobs? >> this is actually a new area for us. in conversations with many of the solar installers and energy efficiency providers in the city, they have told us that they have actually -- the city has done a good job of training folks for the hard skills, construction-related positions. what they really have a lack of are folks who can help with the sales and administrative infrastructure around incentives and things like that. so we will be working with city college to provide a green-related essentially office skills training for up to 40 people in this next year. supervisor maxwell: great. >> the third item is a small grant of $100,000 to support an energy efficiency curriculum and training which we are adding to our citybuild program. we started in the last cycle, adding two weeks of energy ef
