and in light of that, we looked at valencia street closely to understand how that new boarding island worked with the school children and the cyclists in terms of any conflicts. we observed no close calls at the new boarding island and we observed those during the peak times of the school hours. while the number of interactions did increase, the parties still yielded to each other, with pedestrians yielding to cyclists. we're continuing to look at that in detail. and starting a study to look at specifically our transit boarding islands and other features of accessible design and how they're working with our new projects. and we'll have some more information about that over the next year. masonic avenue is another project we looked at the transit boarding island and saw that the -- observed that bicycle-pedestrian interactions were insignificant to the overall volume and there were no close calls observed. a close call, so everyone -- [inaudible] -- is a near-miss. we've tried to delineate how to observe certain interactions and a close call means there is something close to happening

journal editorial board says rhode island's senior ballot harvest could be a case study in the future of voting. let's bring in wall street journal editorial board member, and fox newseginning. what is ballot harvesting? >> well, it's basically other people going out and getting the ballot to voters, but you know, doing it in a way where they influence the vote. in this case, there was an incumbent, a state senator, sam bell, and he accused his opponent of going into public housing where there were seniors and so forth, not telling the residents that she and her staff, you know, were working for her campaign and then collecting their votes, which was all legal, under rhode island law as far as i understand, but looked kind of smelly. in this case, the person accused of cheating lost by 30% so it ended up not mattering but you can imagine this multiplied throughout the country on election day and it's a real, it's a mess because even if people don't cheat, if it leaves the public with the idea that the election is tainted that's very corrupting as well. steve: it's one thing, you know, and a lot of people don't understand this , but it's one thing if you write to you
