news before anybody else did, the huffington post transformed how we use media and how certainly media companies react. i wonder ten years into this, what do you think is the next stage for the media business? >> well, the big trend over the last ten years was moving us from just presenting the news or information to participation, to engagement and getting our viewers and readers involved, i think this is going to escalate over the next ten years. and also, every media company will have to be global because the conversation has become global. and yet, one thing that is so interesting to me, is that most of the solutions are -- we just launched this big initiative and media companies will do something similar called what's working it's refocusing not just on the problems and crisis and we'll continue covering relentlessly but also on solutions. >> you opened the doors where everybody has a voice. the controversy that has come from that, you have people who are basically contributing for free. you can make a profit while they are not. there are a lot of people who have no problem because you have so much content on the site. that is the way it's going to be in the future, this like open doo

mentioning looking at new business liability.t are some things i can do to protect myself >> i find my biggest successes come when i reach out to my clients individually. but i only have so many out to clients individually but i only have so many hours in the day so how do i find a way to balance my automation and my personal outreach. >> one is i think being creative in how you outreach. you want to be keking and making sure what you're reaching out with is relevant. people will want to have repeat dialogues with you whether you're using social media or direct connection through phone or appearances that you do getting involved in the community. it's really about having something that is relevant. delivering things of value to them. things that they can use in their lives and business. >> but when you're talking about social media this is you to many. what she is talking about you to you, you know? one to one. is it important? cost benefit. is it important to go out there and talk to one customer? >> sure. it is. i think the cha

john: when i talk about entrepreneur, i'm talking about a new business that hires at least one worker. what i've been doing and others have been doing is tracking the number of businesses that hire at least one worker. the u.s. -- what we have seen as that these entrepreneurs as so defined have been critical for job creation and productivity growth and innovation within a large case of entrepreneurs coming in and a small fraction really taking off is just partially crating lots of jobs and being high in terms of innovation and productivity. we have seen a decline in the post-2000. it is insult to injury with the great recession. young businesses were already on the way down prerecession and then they just got hammered and have been slow to recover. we are obviously concerned about what this might mean for productivity earnings. we fully understand this decline? the answer is that i'm happy to talk about what are the ideas. let me talk briefly about the cost of the consequences. the consequences are going to depend upon the causes. one thing that we see and one thing that we have done
