news. >>> the california public utilities commission made recommendations. kron 4's reggie kumar tells us what they are being asked to do to prevent a similar disaster. >> reporter: this is a later from the commission sent to pg&e sent on december 16. there are three recommendations they are being asked to make after the explosion three months ago. the first asks for them to reduce the pressure on each pipeline in high areas by 20%, especially for pipelines installed before january 1, 1963 sixty two. second, for them to examine the pipelines through tests, cameras and a robot. lastly, pg&e must haves thization before repressurizing pipelines. some residents say these safety measures are a win or lose situations. >> if they have to reduce the pressure on the line they are going to reduce -- increase them in another area and another community that will have the same problem that we have. it's great they have to do that but there is a need for gas. >> reporter: jackie spear is meeting with federal regulators next week to discuss the recommendations as well as t
