for first place in iowa followed by big wins in new hampshire and nevada while joe biden was losing and losing badly in all of those states then came out to be the most important endorsement in the campaign. the congressman of sshg is being took joe bide tone huge winner in south carolina. the south carolina win super charged the biden campaign so that just three days later, last night, joe biden decisively won ten of the 14 states voting on super tuesday. in two of the three states that joe biden won, michael bloomberg would have produced what looks like a tie in colorado. and in utah, the bloomberg vote would have delivered the win clearly to joe biden. and then today, the day after mike bloomberg appeared to block joe biden and joe biden victories in those states, this happened.

we went to iowa, new hampshire, saying it's not looking good, you said he's getting warmed up. how do you feel today? >> elated. we always knew that iowa and new hampshire were going to be very tough for us. that was a reality. right after iowa, new hampshire, there was a conference call with biden supporters where the vice president and mrs. biden got on and said, look, no surprise here, no shock. we now go into a battleground that is more democrgraphically favorable to us. go to south carolina and try to rack up a victory. here's what we didn't know, a 28 point victory in south carolina. the impact of jim clyburn's endorsement, a fiery speech by biden that night which created this media push that helped him within 72 hours, breathtaking turn within 72 hours but there was always a strategy there, and you have seen the execution of that strategy. >> congressman crowelly, vice president biden won in places he never set foot in, virginia by 30 points a state he spent 130 grand, compared to mike bloomberg who spent $5 million. people said this campaign is about money and personali

in new hampshire amy klobuchar had a great debate going into new hampshire. had a mini surge and he ran a close second. really when those two things happen, a lot of air went out of pete buttigieg's balloon. of course, the great challenge has always been, could he attract minority voters. and particularly black voters in south carolina, which was always going to be a big test for him when he didn't get the escape velocity he needed from iowa and new hampshire, i think this day was inevitable. the real question to me now is, will he endorse a candidate? will he endorse vice president biden tonight? i think that's what i'll be listening for. as abby pointed out, the reason that's important is there are districts in this country where joe biden is straddling viability where bernie sanders may be strong but joe biden could get delegates if he gets over 15% of the vote. with buttigieg out of the race, he should be able to breisch breach that goal in several of these districts where he might not have had buttigieg not gotten out. will he take the extra step and end

bernie sanders actually had a slight lead after iowa, new hampshire, nevada, and south carolina. but then we had the super tuesday stunning performance by joe biden. wins 10 of the 14 states. pulls into a delegate lead. now, we're still counting some delegates some of those states that voted last week but this is where we are tonight. just imagine this scenario.

iowa and new hampshire majority white, suburban, rural states. that was the boca pete buttigieg's support, and once he had gotten into the more progressive areas, he fell behind in the support. they did not see a path forward going into super tuesday, which like nevada and south carolina, is full of very diverse states. host: now we have a former vice president in the next and sammy -- and bernie sanders. is there a consensus about support for the candidate, or is it too early to tell? guest: it is too early to tell. there has been anxiety among some of the moderate lawmakers about sanders being at the top of the ticket. you have all of the freshman from kind of wind -- from several states helping democrats take back the house and probable anxiety among those people about having to run with sanders as the nominee. i think a lot of them would be very happy to see joe biden take over the race. host: on the sunday show, senator sanders described himself as in existential threat to the classic democratic leadership. among democrats on the hill. guest
