this is one of the biggest problems we have in new hampshire. gov. sununu: again, we did something that the state has never done before. we have a $30 million opportunity that incentivize towns, reward towns for saying yes to new planning projects. sounds like rochester, these are doing really well, actually. and usually this cost. family coming in across the town, so my plan, we are going to give every town that says yes to a new project, $10,000 per unit. that is a massive amount of money and far outweighs the potential costs over the next few years. the first towns to say yes get the money. so it is almost a race to see who can permit fastest. it has never been tried before, but already the response has been overwhelming from a lot of cities and towns across the state. in incentivizes with a caring, rewarding those towns to say yes that traditionally may not happy at not just natural, smaller towns and rural new hampshire will all participate in this you will see smaller housing project everywhere. chris: same topic, dr. sherman. dr. sherman: mortg

in some parts of new hampshire, the cost of electricity doubled in the summer. s those rising costs? >> yeah, so, look, the green new deal is an absolute disaster. everybody realizes that. you have to incentivize using our own fuels. new england is at the end of the natural gas pipeline. all the natural gas goes up through new york into new england. and a lot of the surrounding states have shutdown natural gas plants. renewables are great. you've got to have a good balance of renewables. but there has to be a transition into that process. first thing, do no harm. stop signing bad legislation. stop sign things for political reasons and look at your energy policy through the lens of the rate payer. it's the folks on low incomes, elderly, folks on pensions. they pay the electricity subsidy to subsidize the renewables just like everybody else. it's not that you say no to it, but it's got to be the right balance. the river doesn't get shut off at night. the sun does go down. solar isn't nearly as efficient as hydra. offshore wind, probably not great for kansas, but pr

we look at new hampshire's unemployment rate, it is worth pointing out the unemployment rate in new hampshiretly below the national average at 2 p.2%, makes it more of a cost of living conversation that they're having in that state, especially when you look at the rising price of things like gasoline. gas at the state level is below the national average, put up more than a dollar since president biden took office, so that's a big one to watch. quickly. into the governor's race, obviously in new hampshire one to watch as well as republican sununu goes against senator sherman in that state, that's one to watch. finishing off with a couple of the house, two house races in new hampshire, we had caroline levitt on the program, 25 years old, former trump staffer, trying her best as victory in this state. she would be one of the youngest members in congress. she has been able to close the gap as far as polling is concerned against chris popas. and i will finish off by shoepg you new hampshire's second district which is also a close race we are watching, and that is currently a lean d between custer

it's beautiful in new hampshire at this time a year, but it's getting colder. they're noticing that their bills are getting higher, and a bigger chunk of their pocketbook. over and over again, voters from all side of the political spectrum were complaining about the economic pain that they are experiencing from inflation. certainly, abortion is a big issue there. 40% of the voters in new hampshire are independents, so both candidates are really trying hard to attract support from those independents, but the economic message i think is the one that is the top priority. i think in terms of getting at the base, the senator is really trying to emphasize that her opponent is extreme on issues like abortion, on issues like potentially coaching social security and medicare. he is trying to pivot more to the middle and walk back some statements he made, but i do think that the economy is front and center. it's definitely top of mind -- >> deirdre, i do want to come back to you on this question of new hampshire and the specificity of new hampshire but, valencia, before

there is a big fight breaking out in swing state new hampshire senate race.er: good evening, liz, the senate race in new hampshire has really come down to go dueling issues, inflation versus abortion. incumbent democrat senator maggie hassan fending off challenge from republican retired general don bolduc trying to flip her seat in november. this morning hassan was on defense over inflation. she told me the president should do more to tackle the issue. when i asked her if he agrees the assessment that the economy is strong as hell. >> since march to august senator hassan as voted to eye prove $5.2 trillion worth of spending. those decisions have impacted granite staters and raised inflation to a historic level. reporter: hassan went on offense today against her opponent, attacking don bolduc for past comments on abortion. saying she supports no restrictions on abortion at all. >> i do not agree as gentlemen as he put it in the new hampshire legislature should assume my rights or make decisions for me or any other woman in new hampshire. reporter: liz i asked
