in new hampshire, biden won as a write-in candidate. he got 65% of people in new hampshire. phillips got 20, so that was biden not on the ballot, just having his name written in, and that was new hampshire, it's that he only got about 8% of the vote in four years ago. this is south carolina where biden did incredibly four years ago, where he is on the ballot. i think you would expect that number to be significantly higher tonight, maybe 80% plus. we'll see what comes in here officially. in terms of turnout and what constitutes good turnout, again, we are waiting here. any minute now, one of the counties could line up, and that would give us a good idea. here in terms of what constitutes good turnout or bad turnout in a primary like this, they do this, it's hard to say. i'll show you why. this is, this is the black vote in passed the market of primaries in south carolina. you see biden winning a pick in 2020, hillary clinton, barack obama. here is the turnout in the past primaries in south carolina, and the key is there's. 1996, 2012. those are the years that are like this ye

joining me now, new hampshire governor chris sununu. good to have you with us, governor. >> you bet, good to see you. >> shannon: let's talk reality, latest monmouth "washington post" poll among republican primary voters trump 58% and governor haley 32%. recent polling shows a wider gap. why is she still in? >> two states, new hampshire and iowa, don't dictate the entire country, you got to let this play out and give folks a choice. these are filters to narrow it down to a one-on-one race, we've gotten that. nikki haley has resources and will play in all the super tuesday states and i think she doll well and i think she will do well in south carolina. there is a lot at play here. nikki haley had 4 percent of the vote before new hampshire and in that timeframe, she wiped out every other candidate and got within 10 points to him, showing there is a choice. this is not just about the primary, it is about november. nikki haley trounces biden in november. with trump it will be a nail-biter, just like in 2022 and 2020. she trouncing biden, if

that's what lyndon johnson signed new hampshire, jean mccarthy got 42% of the vote. and then in johnson dropped out of the presidential race, not because he thought gene mccarthy could beat him to the nomination. he was sure he would get the nomination of the convention in chicago, because that's where it was going to be decided. it wasn't gonna be decided in the primaries. but the signaling and johnson got from the new hampshire vote was i can't win in november. this is too much weakness within my own party for me to win in november. and that's why he dropped out. when you look at this vote on uncommitted, which is one that i fully respect, strategically, and the people who want to cast, to deliver this expression of, this is based on a policy that we care about, we think the president is failing us on this one policy and only on this one policy, and no other policy. this is not a vote for a person. they could have put up a candidate. they could've gone to dean phillips. dean phillips says he wants to see a cease-fire in december. they refused. refused to vote for d
