went 0 for 3 in the first three democratic primaries, not turning in stunning finishes in new hampshire, nevada or iowasconsin, michigan and pennsylvania. what do you hear they're looking at at this hour? >> this is a campaign from the very beginning has been playing the long game. for anybody to look to florida to look for a quick result that would trend in biden's direction, that's not happening. the biden campaign is conceding that state is trending in the wrong direction. they see it as a unique problem of cuban american vote for president trump is too strong for biden to carry the statewide vote. the good news that they see in florida though is they like the indications of the suburban vote. the non-cuban lat know vote is also strong. they also like what we're seeing in ohio, a state that a lot of us thought was going to be out of reach for the biden campaign. they still see positive indications in the suburban vote in the cincinnati area especially. they're outperforming both hillary clinton and barack obama in those counties. so, for the biden campaign, they've always said that florida was going

iowa, to the republicans, all right? now let's say nevada and colorado and the upper midwest goes biden, plus new hampshire, all right?o all of a sudden you're at 258, 258. let's say you split the top 2. you are down to pennsylvania. that's why everyone's coming here. this also, well, we have unprecedented turnout. and it's going to blow up a lot of the campaign's models. early vote turnout in parks has been a little bit less than we've seen in other states. so let's take a look at the state of play in par.a., becaus it tells you a lot about the fight and the battlegrounds we've seen today. 2016, donald trump stuns the world by winning p.a. why? because he's the first republican since george h.w. bush in 1998 to win it. that's a very big deal. and he wins it pretty big, 44,000 votes. take a look at where he wins it. take a look up here and here. here you've got the heart of a lot of these so-called pivot counties that went for obama and biden twice and pivoted to donald trump, just as evidence of that, look at what happens to the map when we switch it back to 2012. erie county goes blue. these critical areas go around

were all together on those nights where he had decisive defeat in new hampshire, decisive defeat in the first two caucuses in iowa and nevadasn't a campaign that sort of got rattled, and i think this is where his personal story connected and intersected with his political story. someone who suffered the loss of two children and his first wife, but this was a campaign always to find its footing. and i think i used this earlier in the night. if there's a tortoise and a hare, i don't know if there's an appropriate animal for the trump campaign. it really was never about the democratic elites. it was never about the media. the media counted him out, the democratic elites counted him out. joe biden has constantly exceeded expectations. this is campaign very low-key. and i recognize this as a former campaign staffer. it has a habit -- you have to imagine there's been some big debates inside this campaign how long to sort of stay off the trail, what the events should look like. and again you can't project this out and say they're going to win because they ran a campaign that didn't leak, but they're all good signals and also bode
