the dense fog is in new jersey.ht fog at the shore and many of the suburbs seeing a fewç spots of fog this morning. not everybody. most of the suburbs are in the 60s. look at unionville, though, 58 degrees right now. 70 degrees meantime in warrenton and newtown is 71 degrees. satellite and radar, we are clear of any storms in our area. just to the south, you can see a storm spinning off the carolina coast. that's a tropical depression. depression number 8. it hasn't strengthened but it's still present and creating swells that will increase the rip current risk for the shore and the coastline. but a greater risk of rip currents from our area potentially come from this storm system. looking more organized. see showers and thunderstorms on its eastern side. this could become a tropical storm later today. and potentially threaten the florida coastline before we get to the holiday weekend. the first storm system, that's tropical storm -- or tropical depression 8 could possibly become a tropical storm. but maybe not. pos

new jersey attorney general and office is investigating the shooting of a new jersey man by state troopersn his home. officials say troopers mistakenly responded to a home of 76-year-old gerald sykes after a dropped 911 call late last friday. the call did not come from the sykes home in upper deerfield township. sykes grabbed his shotgun when he heard people outside. he was in his living room when he was shot three times in the back. he claims the troopers did not announce themselves. state police say they did announce themselves. sykes remains hospitalized at cooper medical center. >>> the city of philadelphia is trying to decrease accidental shootings by giving away gun locks. this is in response to a new law in philadelphia that requires guns to be locked when not in use. officials will be at rose play ground at 75th and lansdowne avenue tonight from 6:00 to 8:30. tomorrow it's at 32nd and cumberland. >>> new details on the kathleen kane perjury trial. jury selection is set to begin tomorrow. lawyers for the pennsylvania attorney general asked the state supreme court to throw out charge
