the gentlewoman from new mexico is recognized. ms. leger fernandez: yes, indeed. i agree we need to make sure we address fentanyl for every community, whether it be new york or new mexico, because the fentanyl crisis is a public health crisis and families are losing loved ones every day. indeed, in new mexico in 2020, the new mexico department of health found that 65% of people with substance use disorders were not getting the treatment they needed. the same problem we find nationwide. over 86% of people suffering from opioid abuse were not getting the treatment they needed in 2020. and even once treatment begins, people are at their most vulnerable when they suffer from relapse. their bodies cannot handle the sudden return of high levels of opioids and the result is often fatal. so i do hope that we can continue to agree that we must address this and that we must provide in addition to this bill the kind of funding that is needed and that is urgent to treat addiction. mr. speaker, i would like to yield three minutes to my distinguished colleague from texas, ms. ja

i live in new mexico, basically we are all small businesses around here. there is very little corporate interests. walmart just shut down on the main street in albuquerque and i am wondering, what can schools -- schools and school districts do to better prepare her students to help them get the jobs that are out in our communities? that is it. guest: i think you bring up a good point about how can local schools help and contribute. i think that is the key, local efforts. we had members, i am thinking of one in oklahoma who this is a passion of his, teamed up with the governor and his local city to get small business owners into the classroom, to educate students and teachers to say why are these skills important for the real world? what are skills you could develop to help get you prepared for your first career job, or first job outside of high school? i think a lot of local districts are going back and restoring some of the more technical aspects of education, which is important. but i think the best examples of success our local school districts or commu
