coastal flad flooding and a new moon. seeing a high tide. so that's going to give us concerns along the shore, and we're watching for anymore concerns further inland, but aside from that, we are watching the rain, so the heaviest of it moves through earlier this morning, and locally, though, we have heavy pockets farming in northern delaware, delaware bay, watching that here as we go through the next couple hours, i would say. this is moving into newcastle and kent counties. midd middletown in newcastle county seeing the rain, and you see the yellows, oranges, and zooming in more, i think, mostly, northern delaware is just going to be dealing with this for the time, and that's where we see the pockets of that heavier rain right now in newcastle county. along these areas, townsend seeing it too. this estimated rainfall, 1-3 inches in the area. we don't expect heavy rain like that this morning, but another thing we see with scattered showers is threat for coastal flooding, warning for the jersey shore and delaware beaches. this is for high tid

it's the result of persistent northeast winds and an upcoming new moon. what those winds do is they keep pushing the water from the ocean into the back bays. it doesn't have much of an opportunity to drain back into the ocean because of the northeast winds holding it in the bay. now, widespread minor coastal flooding happening this morning. maybe pockets of moderate coastal flooding. this evening, high tide is expected to be worse with higher water levels and potentially widespread moderate coastal flooding. the advice from emergency management officials and police here at the jersey shore, if you haven't already, move your cars to higher ground. don't drive through floodwaters, although right now, you do see that this truck is coming by me. i guess this guy thought he had no choice but to drive through the flood water, and he's going to go right into a deeper section right there at that intersection. that's the latest here in ventnor, i'm ted greenberg, nbc10 news. >> with the rain that's here and all the rain coming, count on nbc10's app to track the sh

it's also a new moon so that means more flooding tonight.he next high tide between 7:30 and 9:30 and like we've seen there will be widespread street flooding, wave heights five to 8 feet and yes, additional beach erosion tonight. now, future tracker showing tomorrow morning, don't expect a bright and sunny morning. 9 o'clock the clouds are in place even a few scattered showers but as we head into the afternoon with that low pressure really weakening, we will see some peeks of sunshine but when you get the sunshine and colder air higher in the atmosphere you also get a few scattered showers popping up. so, 4 o'clock we will see some showers not widespread, temps in the 60's and then on sunday morning, this is when a cold front rolls through. this will bring us a round of showers around 7 o'clock in the morning but what that cold front will do, it will finally kick that low pressure out to sea, so look at what happens by lunchtime. the sun is back. temperatures close to 70 degrees. we will not just see peaks of sunshine on sunday, we will see

as we go through the next 12 to 18 hours and because of a new moon combined with that persistent northeastlyind and the low developing to the south, a coastal flood warning in effect until 1:00 a.m. on saturday. these are many cycles of high tide we'll see moderate flooding along the coast and back bays and parts of the delaware river. the next time of concern is from 7:00 until 9:00. the flood prone area, you want to move the car away from them. 49 in reading and allentown and 48 in millville. and the rain arrives at dawn from the south and east and pulls into the ocean from it's i-95 corridor at 7:00 tomorrow morning. a slow rush especially philadelphia from the south and east. by lunch time, heavy rain pulling into the lehigh valley as we have the waves of rain pulling in off the coast and by 5:30 in the evening, still a wet rush areas to the west of philadelphia, but starting to dry in delaware and new jersey as we go into the afternoon. it will be a pretty decent soaking, overall a half inch to as much as an inch for locations as far as rain tomorrow morning into tomorrow afternoon. you

moon bay. the good news is the marine layer is very small meaning those clouds will burn off rather quickly and by 8:00 in the morning, most spots are seeing tons of sunshine. at 70. the coastal cloud cover but lunchtime, the clouds are essentially gone and by noon, fairfield already in the low 80s. toronto on their way to a warm day. highs on monday, 70 in san francisco and 83 in fairfield, the same and 76 fremont after morning clouds in san jose up to 79. and napa up to a comfortable 82. your weather well witness, tree pollen and pine and juniper but look what is happening to grass pollen. it's surged to high levels. the dry breezy atmosphere is conducive for the pollen to swirl around and that's likely the issue you're sneezing and have itching eyes. that will be the trend into much of the accuweather forecast. jump ahead to tuesday, the temperatures really take off. look at this. mid and low 90s inland around the bay it is very warm. a lot of spots are going into the low 80s. by wednesday, we'll see the coast cool down first. we'll go backinto the 60s. san francisco more comfortable in the
