david nick is a new orleans fire department captain. one of 36 firefighters from his city volunteering in new york. helping fire department personnel here rebuild their homes. >> seven years ago we had a pretty big storm in new orleans. and the city of new york sent 600 guys down to help us out. and they made a huge difference for us. >> reporter: their work is partly about repaying that kindness. when hurricane katrina hit. >> when they showed up, you know, we fought fires with these guys. they helped us with rescues. they came and they did what we are doing today, which is incredibly noble but the most important thing that they did was the lifting of the spirits. >> reporter: 9 team assigned to rueter's house made quick work of his flooded base am. in just a couple of hours they tore down the basement's waterlogged wall, work rueter says would have taken him weeks on his own. >> what would you want to say to these guys. >> i love them for coming up here. >> you love them. >> and doing this, yeah. >> reporter: they didn't have to do tha

house flooded up to the roof. >> that was the biggest thing. >> reporter: now the firefighters from new orleansountry, any state. it is a connection between the fire department. and new york is like our brother city. >> reporter: places like belle harbor, long island, need the help. the first floor of this house is destroyed. he also lost a house in new orleans during katrina. are you like a storm magnet? what is going on here? >> a good friend in new orleans sent me a text message saying i have very strong hurrikarmr. >> reporter: firefighters helped in katrina, as well. >> the buildings are on fire, everybody runs out, they run in, here in a smaller scale they ran in to help me. >> reporter: like many here, he comes from a family of firefighters. his brother, greg, was killed on 911. which made coming to his house even more important for the team from new orleans. this is the day firefighters talk about, no matter where you're from, you talk about it. in very little time, the crew cleared out the water-logged first floor. but perhaps even more important than muscle was their message. >> it wi

it's interesting, the irish history connected with new orleans. so the o'reilly family has been in louisiana for centuries. in cuba, nobody remembers him but it was the street of calle oreilly, famous until the 50's for its banks and bookstores. it was one of the favorite streets of (inaudible) secretary of the spanish count of fernandino, my grandfather, another irish man feeling at home in havana. there, at the busy corner of calle street and oreilly was a cafe bakery owned by a catelan. it was described by many foreigners, in particular british and irish who lived in havana at the time, as one of the best order and most elegant cafes in the world. its large door led to a main floor with a fantastic stone floor. i saw it in the 50's, i was very little but i still was there in the 50's, and have a fountain that all that water really produce a refreshing sound that drown the patrons' loud conversations. but what made dominica famous, according to some foreigners and historians, was its ice cream of countless flavors and its famous fruit ices: guav

there is a technical team in new orleans working with united. we should be getting an update some time today in terms of what they found. meanwhile, the boeing dream liners are all undergoing an inspection. we expect the faa to issue a requirement on fuel line checks today. boeing has already asked all of those in service to be checked. checking for two connectors. half the dream liners that are already in service have been inspected. when you are looking at how many dream liners are out there, you are looking at fewer than 40 worldwide, three here in the u.s. with united. the dreamliner is built now both in everett, washington as well as charleston, south carolina. at the end of the day this is what we are talking about whether it comes to the ramp up in deliveries. last december was the first delivery after dreamliner. five per month is where they are at right now. they need to get to ten per month which is where they believe they will by december of next year. dreamliner is the key to next six, seven years of profitability. tyler and sue, a l
