cold case out of new york city. new york city police say a suspect is no in custody and in that disappearance of etan patz. he was six years old in 1979. and he's more from our sister station in new york. >> good evening. this is one of the biggest developments and one of the most famous cases of a missing child in u.s. history. coincidentally, etan patz vanished from the neighborhood here in lower manhattan 33 years ago tomorrow. tonight, the new york city police department say they have a man in custody, pedro hernandez, 51 years old from camden, new jersey. earlier, the new york city police commissioner said that mr. hernandez made statements to, quote, implicate in patz's death. hernandez reportedly told police he worked in a mini market in this area three decades ago and lured him with the promise of a candy or soda. he told police he suffocated patz and got rid of the body so it was not found. after all of the years, patz's body has never been recovered. prosecutors are looking into the new lead and we're told
