i thought i was going to have a story in the middle of "the new york times." the story that i got out of this question out of the front page of "the new york times" became viral and it became the basis for my book. i'm not sure how many of you have read it and i don't want to give the ending away so i'm going to him be circumspect about the book. let me just say as a journalist you are always struggling for a front-page story. nobody goes into journalism to become a millionaire or a celebrity. you will have your ego by getting your name in lights or on the cover of "the new york times." it's a really tough road to plow trying to find out something that nobody else in the world knows. i think i've probably had some decent scoops in my career. nothing like i had found out from "the spymaster of baghdad." i didn't understand how important it wasno going to be d i didn't know that was going to end up to be this kind of story. all he knew was that i had five months trying to get someone to answer what i thought was an incrediblyan straightforward question how is it
