lydia tells us what is being done to protect new yorkers. here is lidia curanaj. reporter: posters like this one are all over the city, officials say that a crisis is emerging and they want new york city to be prepared for it. >> we are announcing a three-year plan that will cover all five boroughs. reporter: mayor bill de blasio announced a 21 million-dollar plan that they say will help to protect new yorkers from the zika virus. the virus is currently in 34 countries and can cause devastating birth defects. >> we want to emphasize that we do not see where there will be a but that does not stop us from wanting to address even more limited problems. the city's plan involves reducing the number of mosquitoes and detecting the presence of disease and educating the public on precautions like mosquito repellent. >> it prepares us for the unlikely but nevertheless possible scenario that we could see local transmission from her own mosquitoes. reporter: that is because mosquitoes are known to carry it. >> the mosquito would bite a new yorker returned from someplace where

the new york primary is primarily about new yorkers. d trump and bernie sanders were born in new york city and hillary clinton has this as her adopted home state. clinton and trump are the two are expected to win today. the question isn't if they will win, but really by how much they will win because today, maria is all about delegates. 95 delegates are at stake for the republicans. trump needs to win as many as possible in order to avoid a contested convention and in order to win all the delegates, he has to need a 50% threshold. on the democratic side, hillary clinton, former new york senator is also expected to win today at 247 democratic delicate. they are awarded proportionally. bernie sanders is at a disadvantage because many of his supporters are independent and they are not allowed to vote in the democratic primary. voters recognizing the importance of today's primary are enthusiastically casting their ballot. two voters now that were randomly chosen. >> i didn't vote for bernie. i don't have any problem sharing that. he's an aut
