so i moved to newark, new jersey.applause] that city i did not grow up and put their faith in me, elected me there city councilman, and eventually elected me -- elected andheir city councilman eventually elected me mayor. after almost eight years of working in a great city, turning around the economy, working with great heroes that taught me more than any university could. the state of new jersey sent me to washington and i was elected in a special election. my father died in october, sworn in in october. this month was the fifth year since i have been elected. i got there, and a wanted to .ell this story to the country i wrote a book called "united," calling to the greatest ideals of our country. patriotism is the love of country, and you cannot love your country unless you love your fellow countrymen and women.
