that big hybridized storm heading over newfoundland. circulation around that bringing the moisture in across the great lakes. plus, high pressure, winds coming off the high on the east side of the high. they're combining coming right down on top of us. that's old hat. that stuff's going away. high pressure comes in relaxes the breeze. another one that will follow it. more concern for the coming weeks. this weekend looks all right. little more sunshine today. 50 to 55 the high. breezy, too. northwest winds gusting as high as 0 20 miles an hour. tomorrow set your clock back one hour. get up at 2 a.m. and do it then have a party or something like that when you gain the extra time. take a look at our insta weather future cast. storm one develops. moves off over the ocean. storm two, several miles, different solution as to how close the coast is with the storm. middle of the week. see something akin to a nor'easter. not as strong as sandy, but a wind and rain maker. that's what we're calling for wednesday and thursday. until that time dry. h

looks like just something you'd see somewhere in newfoundland. let's show you what's happening as far as today. this morning on this monday, i hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. very cold conditions have invaded the country. everywhere in blue has a windchill of 40 degrees or lower. it's very cold in the northern plains. north dakota, minnesota, windchills in the negative numbers. 19 in chicago. and it's blustery and cold from boston through new england. of course, this time of year when you get that cold air, you're going to get the lake-effect snow. we've had it all weekend long on and off. we're getting heavy lake effect now trying to shift down towards oswego, new york and trying to sink into the syracuse area. just be careful driving on the throughway and also northern portions interstate 81. late today as we get moisture returning from the gulf, a little bit of warmer air. we may get a few strong thunderstorms here in northern louisiana down through areas of east texas. just north of houston. the threat of large hail and a littl

that's newfoundland.re getting the effect of that, the flow from that coming across the great lakes. that's where you see those lake snows. there's a disturbance off shore off the northeast coast. and the next storm of concern to us is out in the southwest plains there just coming into west texas out in new mexico. all right. this storm's going to zoom across the south and get out over the atlantic ocean. then there will be another one develop out there. that one will also get into the atlantic but drift farther north. the sequence of events going into next week are questionable. we have some cold temperatures coming off the great lakes and then we have some more cold temperatures, another batch in the west developing behind this storm coming into the southern plains. it's warm air all tucked down near the gulf of mexico. so our forecast for today, same as yesterday really. probably more sun breaks, but still some clouds and 50 to 55 the high. breeze will pick up in the afternoon a bit northwest 10 to 15,
