"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live for just wilmington this morning, where investigators are now searching for what may have started both fires. good morning, jan. >> reporter: diane, erika, good morning, that's right, two serious fires here in new castle county, delaware on sunday, now fire investigators are looking for a cause to both of them. here you can see all of the damage left behind in wilmington, a dozen people here are out of their homes. you can see these units are completely burned out. and over in claymont, a similar site close to 40 people are homeless there. that fire was also deadly. this was the scene in claymont early sunday morning, the fire breaking out there around 2:30 a.m. by the time fire crews arrived the harbor house amounts were engulfed in flames. we're told the fire started in a apartment on the third floor, quickly spread, took firefighters three hours to contain the flames, they found one person dead inside after apartment, a 72 year old man was also rescued and

we start with breaking news. search is under way after an airasia flight carrying 162 people from indonesia to singapore lost contact with air traffic controllers. it's reported that the pilot had requested a deviation from the planned flight path because of bad weather. president obama was briefed on the situation late last night. katie, i know we don't know a lot. but do you have some new information. what do you know? >> reporter: it's nighttime here in singapore. they called off the search for the each. they will resume it tomorrow morning. this happened around 7:24 local time when the plane suddenly dropped off radar. pilots asked for a change in course. they wanted to go at 38000 feet because of weather. there was a line of thunderstorms in the area. it was supposed to get to singapore airport at 8:30 in the morning, but it never made it. now there's a search and rescue operation that has been going on all day. it has been called off for the evening. they will resume tomorrow. this is sounding familiar beca
