newscopter 7 is over the scene. eyewitness news reporter marcus solis is there. he is on the ground. marcus? >> reporter: diana, officials say this will be at least another three hours before they can get things up and rolling again on the number 4 because of that truck that remains wedged under the elevated tracks. you can see police dealing with the driver. no word if he will be ticketed. a short time ago his truck hit the elevated tracks at east 213th street. you can see it buckled and started a small fire when the top of it hit the feeder cable for the third line that runs up above. the fire was quickly put out and subway service has been disrupted. newscopter 7 you can see another look as you see the 18- wheeler just completely wedged underneath the northbound tracks here of the number 4 line. service is terminated at burnside avenue. that is the end of the line on burnside avenue for people heading northbound. no service now between woodlawn and burnside avenue. so, essentially, the final seven stops, subway stops are being bypassed for those commuters head

shannon sohn is in newscopter 7 with much more. shannon? >> reporter: we heard everything unfold because we were working in laguardia's airspace when the plane suffered the emergency. they were seven miles north of spuyten duyvil. they called in saying they needed to declare an emergency and tried to make it to teterboro with an engine sputtering. minutes after that, they declared that the engine shut down. as a member of an air crew, you are always looking for somewhere to land in case something goes wrong. they tried to make it to teterboro. when the engine quilt they realized they couldn't make it. in an airplane you can glide for a while. it looks to us that they tried to find the best spot they could find. as we bring this out, you can see a fudge field. there were people on some of the fields but not the one that they landed. this is where they put it down. unfortunately they landed into the trees but a good job overall. reporting live over cresskill, shannon sohn, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> remarkable job indeed. quite a story. sh

newscopter 7 overhead. straight to john del giorno. >> reporter: this fire began in a home on glenwood in brooklyn shortly after 4:00 this morning. the fire spread to the house next door. you can see one of the homes involved in the fire completely destroyed. the flames up through the roof. fire department dousing the flames there. the fire jumped to the house next door which was on fire for a bit. the fire department knocked that down. this is a four-alarm assignment. a lot of activity down on the ground. count on traffic delays near coney island and foster avenue. that's where a lot of this is concentrated. while the looks like the fire department is getting the upper hand, a lot of activity on the scene. dray clark gives us the latest from the scene down on the street. dray? >> reporter: good morning. from the air to the ground, this is 1312 glenwood avenue. you can see both of the homes on fire. firefighters are focused on the main firehouse where the fire initially broke out. in the last half hour sinc

shannon sohn is lye in newscopter 7 -- shannon sohn is live in newscopter 7 with an update. the front of that car looks completely totaled, shannon. >> reporter: yeah, it almost looks as if that car completely drove underneath that special needs bus. all of this happening at the intersection of woodhaven boulevard and 81st road. you can see clearly the damage to this vehicle. what we know at this point is that there were eight injuries in all involved in this accident. you can see they are working to get some of the special needs patients off of that bus but clearly the brunt of the damage done to that passenger vehicle. what you need to know as you travel through this area is really no detour is set up but woodhaven boulevard completely shut down in both directions. your northbound delay is going to take you back to jamaica avenue and we are going to bring you along the southbound side to give you an idea of how bad this is because it's stopped dead back to st. john's cemetery. you can see volume spilling onto that as well. 88th road gets you around this as best you can but

newscopter 7 was overhead. as the suspects surrendered, they were surrounded by officers on the scene and taken into custody. a total of six juveniles were involved. now, this crime wave began with a carjacking at 6:41 this morning. there were several subsequent crimes including a robbery and shooting and in each case the suspects were in the stolen silver jaguar. newark police were in pursuit when they jumped out on hawthorne avenue. one suspect that died was hit by a newark police car. three others were quickly apprehended and the final two were flushed out of the house. >> right now it looks like they are involved. they have a carjack vehicle they are operating. the same car identity was given out for a shooting and a robbery in and around this area. that is being investigated right now. so -- >> reporter: we also understand that the person, the victim, the victim of the carjacking was also injured. once again, we talked about the fact that a person was running through the scene screaming a family member may

let's get the latest from shannon sohn in newscopter 7. shannon? >> reporter: yeah, shirleen, there were moments where we were holding our breath. we were working in laguardia's airspace when we heard this plane call in saying it was having engine troubles about seven miles north of city ten duyvil in the bronx -- spuyten duyvil in the bronx. they requested to make it to teterboro. they cut across new jersey. it was in cresskill when they determined they could not make it, the engine failed. they alerted the tower then went radio silent. this is where we found the plane. it appears to be a cessna. you can see emergency crews working around it. it came to rest in some trees just off the cresskill swim club at the intersection of third and magnolia. we will bring the shot out to give you perspective on where [000:59:57;00]

newscopter 7 was over the scene as they walked out, got down on the ground and were handcuffed before they were taken into custody. they and four others had stolen a silver jaguar and gone on a two-hour crime spree which involved a shooting and a robbery. the suspects jumped out of the stolen vehicle because they were being chased by newark police. authorities say three were quickly caught. the two in the house were flushed out and the sixth suspect was run over and killed by a newark police car. neighbors were shocked that young teenagers were involved in this crime spree. >> all this stuff out here is trying to be hard, trying to be gangster, trying to fit in in the wrong crowds, that's not good. that's not for me. >> reporter: the jaguar was stolen from the vailsburg section of newark. the woman who was the victim was injured when the suspects took off in her car and ran over her foot. another person was shot but survived. all of this happening in a short space of time. >> it's terrible. >> reporter: s.w.a.t. teams had to be called in to bring the crime wave to an end but authoriti

this is a live picture from newscopter 7. it has been over the scene since this happened. this is 11 miles north of the nearest airport to the south, teterboro. new jersey reporter anthony johnson is on the ground for us with the breaking news. >> bill, we did get word there was a plane in trouble heading to teterboro airport. it never made it there. we talked to a couple of witnesses out on the scene. they said when the plane was traveling over the field there was no power, no engine, the propeller was not moving. let's show you what is taking place on the ground. you can see the plane from this distance, a cessna 172 aircraft that crash landed around 5:00 out here in the field near the swim club. we talked to officials a few minutes ago. they said they are lucky this did not happen around this time now because they said normally around 6:00 in the evening this field would have been full of young kids. at the start of school all the kids come over here and practice. this plane did have problems. it came over the field. it halfway circled the field [000:59:57;00]

newscopter 7 was over the scene neared branch in newark. as many as nine cars were involved in a chain reaction crash before 10:00 this morning. all lanes on the roadway are being reopened. >>> meanwhile, a hit and run crash reaction crash on the belt parkway left one woman dead. 22-year-old sade eversley was thrown from her motorcycle in queens then hit by a white model minivan. the van didn't stop and police are now trying to track the driver down. moments later a second minivan ran over the victim but that driver did stop. >>> traffic is finally back to normal on the inbound lincoln tunnel following a morning of huge delays. port authority officials say a greyhound bus and two cars collided in the south tube around 6:30 this morning. as many as 8 people suffered injuries. at one point there were 90- minute backups into new york. so far no charges have been filed against any of the drivers. >>> and more traffic troubles this morning. a fairy crash on the garden state parkway -- fiery crash on the garden state parkway. two s.u.v.s caught f

let's give you a shot from newscopter 7. the fire broke out around 4:50 this morning 1312 glenwood road. the fire jumped to a neighbors home. there were five people inside the home where the fire initially started. they were injured. their injuries are not considered life threat typing. they were able to get out of the home on their own. at the height of the fire, more than 100 firefighters were here. early on the fire was difficult to get a handle on but eventually firefighters attacked it from multiple angles and eventually get it contained. it control. neighbors say that they are concerned because there have been some concerns about an arsonist in the neighborhood. firefighters say they are aware of that and this fire is considered suspicious. we are waiting to learn more information when we talk to the deputy chief in a moment. dray clark, channel 7 >>> a wild incident overnight for police in suffolk county. it ended with jonathan moore of westbury in handcuffs then taken to the hospital. police say he crashed a car on t
