newsrooms in this country. we were dealing with families that had been separated. in some cases, our stories led to people being reunited, families being reunited, particularly stories we did with the help of our spanish-speaking colleagues and newsrooms. us, the reporting on school buildings and the conditions is probably the least sexy story in the history of the planet. we really wanted to take it on. how do we make this resonate with people? a lot of the kids in philadelphia don't know what a good school looks like. they are just not aware of what school should be. so how do we elevate this into the public consciousness and get people to change the debate around it and get people talking about it? and also we wanted a story, our story to energize people in a way that would not drive people out of the philadelphia school system. that was really a challenge. iis was the first story that have ever done where we said, let's do a story on schools and it came from the top down. usually it is more organic. i don't
