to fellow minnesotan michele bachmann if there was a surprise performance it might have been newt gingrich's but the winner of the debate overall in terms of how it changes the election and what effect it has going forward is pretty obviously mitt romney. now don't get me wrong i watch the debate i'm covering it too i obviously think that it's important what it's him what is what is important is the stuff that actually sticks out the stuff that makes you want to laugh or the stuff that might want to make you cry and run in fear not the expected usual g.o.p. talking points about who loves the constitution more than the other and foreign policy is a great example of where we should be looking let's see we've been fighting a ten year war in afghanistan we're still in iraq we have drones in elite teams in pakistan yemen somalia and who knows where else and all the while social programs are going to be cut here at home to keep those wars going and foreign aid is going to be given out to whoever the flavor of the month is that we think promote stability worldwide until of course they do something
