we have some warmer air down to the south and east mcclinton, newton grove, east of fayetteville, say lumber, you have the potential of a little bit of patchy thunder and lightning with that. here's a look at the radar picture again starting at 8:15 this morning. you can see most of the rain or 11:00, for this morning, i should say, we start seeing a develop in the southern part of the viewing area. we have rain falling in fayetteville right now. fairly light. you can see the market house and what roads in downtown fayetteville. 44 officially at the airport. we have drizzle falling at rdu, northeast wind at 8 miles per hour, dewpoint 43. it really has not changed at all since this morning when i walked into the door. drizzle, temperatures in the mid-40s. 42 s. hill, 46 in rocky mount and wilson. 46 in southern pines. it is 49 in clinton and 50 in kenansville. some of our towns in the east could warm up this afternoon as we have that boundary pushing back to the west. i'm going to talk more about that coming up in 30 minutes. we are watching this next system get cranked up over texas.

newton grove right now. that's going to move kind of right there along the wayne county/johnston county line. let me step out here, and let's put a tracker on that. as that continues to move quickly off towards the northeast, let's talk about who that might be impacting. the cities up here in the top 6:49, princeton. stoney creek, just before 7:00. lucama and wilson. those cities could be possibly under the gun over the next several minutes. then just some good old fashioned heavy rain with the possibility of some strong winds, for you guys in nashville, and rocky mountain. i-95, i mentioned the commute there tonight is just horrible. we're seeing more than a quarter of an inch of rain per hour. heavy rain, a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:15. that's kind of our current radar tour. i want to talk about some of the other things going on. first, traffic. you see all the incidents around town. those are current accidents as we look at traffic here at 6:34 on a wednesday night. normally, we'd see a lot more

newton 32, conover only 30. is at or below freezing. rowan county getting better now, china grove is the 34. so we'll see improvements but for most neighborhoods here to the north, it may be until after 7:00 that we will see more of the improvements coming in, maybe 8:00 or 9:00 until widespread improvements come on through. so there's that pocket of cold air still lingering to the north. salisbury still at 32, although you are warming. we're at 37 charlotte. all points south very warm. no travel issues other than the wet roads here into the city. so as our morning rolls on, the clouds will break up, we'll be in the low 40s in charlotte. temperatures warming nicely today, low 50s at noon with a lot of sunshine through midday. clouds start to return late this afternoon, but we still warm up close to 60, thanks to a downsloping west wind. so there goes the rain from overnight. a nice clear picture here except for mountain clouds through the day. those clouds will come right back in this afternoon as the rain chance comes back in tonight. it won't be as heavy, but light showers come in after 7:
