after quarterback tom brady's four-game deflategate suspension was upheld by nfl commissioner roger goodell. the players unioneral court. details from abc's karen travers. >> reporter: upon further review, the call off the field stands. the nfl announcing that commissioner roger goodell has upheld the four-game suspension on patriots quarterback tom brady for his role in deflategate. brady sat down with nfl officials last month to appeal his punishment. analysts say the superstar quarterback turned in an impressive performance at the ten-hour hearing, giving sincere answers and explanations for the points raised in the nfl's deflategate investigation report. the report found brady was at least generally aware about the patriots using underinflated footballs last season. but the four-time super bowl champion wasn't able to change goodell's mind. the nfl says that goodell upheld the suspension in part because brady had an assistant destroy his cell phone because he knew investigators wanted to see text messages he exchanged with patriots staffers. the four-game ban is harsh, a quarter of the nfl regular season.
